A Golden Day
What a beautiful day - a golden day! The mostly cloudy sky reflected the sun's yellow glow to kiss the earth with a breath of gold.
It was on this day I realized that each winter day in Lapland had its own color. As the time of kaamos (polar night) becomes more distant and spring approaches, the colors become softer, more muted. This day, however, was only a month from kaamos in Kittila and was quite brilliant.
